Jardin de Cactus Lanzarote

I know, I know. Laura what are you playing at still putting holiday blog posts up almost 3 months after you went on holiday! To be truthful, I’m useless and because we moved into our house when we got back, I just never got round to posting some of them.

This little feature is one of the touristy bits we did during our trip to Lanzarote. We hired a car for 2 days and drove about an hour to the top of the island and then on the way back we stopped off at Jardin de Cactus. The garden was designed by none other than Cesar Manrique who has heavily influenced the island as a whole. I love Cacti so this was an hour well spent for me and even my fiance enjoyed it as well. Here are some of the snaps that I got whilst there.

I know this has been more of a photo post than anything else but I just wanted to share how truly beautiful this place is. I found it really peaceful and calming walking round and am so glad we made the effort to go and visit it whilst there. If you go to Lanzarote then it is a definite must see and I will try to share a few more holiday posts soon with some of the other tourist sites to venture to.

Thanks for stopping by

Playa Blanca: a truly beautiful town

So back in June (which seems like forever ago), Bob & I jetted off for two sunny weeks in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. Having never visited the island before and Bob’s last visit was as a small child, we were open to seeing what it could offer.

One Word summed it up really: Beautiful!

We stayed at the amazing Hotel Volcan Lanzarote which actually has part of the hotel shaped like a volcano complete with lights running down it to look like lava. If hotels aren’t up your street and you prefer something with a little more flexibility then perhaps you could try a Lanzarote villa In the Canary Islands?

We had the most amazing two weeks and ventured from the top of the island to the bottom doing some of the typical touristy things. I thought I would share a few of my favourite snaps before reviewing some of the tourist spots and restaurants in the next coming weeks. I hope you enjoy them and if you are thinking of going then leave me a comment and I will try to answer any questions you have.

The marina just outside our hotel which was beautiful and full of fish.

A gorgeous castle/fort which was used to keep an eye on pirates just outside our hotel again.

The prettiest palm trees against white was a firm feature of the island and I had to take a photo.

The Jardin De Cactus which was one of the tourist spots we went to and loved.

The love locks along the seafront of Playa Blanca.

Keep your eyes peeled for my posts talking all about the hotel, the food and the sights coming up in the next few weeks.
