When it comes to soaps etc, I will admit to preferring a soap dispenser of some sort, just because it’s easier. When Valley Mill got in touch asking if I wanted to review some of their Natural Soaps, I was really intrigued to give it a go and see if it changed my mind. I chose 2 of their scented soaps to try out; Lavender & Citronella and Tea Tree & Witch Hazel.
My first instinct when I opened the box was the strong smell that came out. Both of the soaps have an amazing scent which definitely doesn’t dull with use. I chose to use the Tea Tree & Witch Hazel soap first because my skin has been a bit of a nightmare lately. The soap is your typical rectangular shape and is green and black in colour.
I was impressed by the fact that when I used the soap, it didn’t break up into pieces with the water. I was concerned that because it was handmade, it would just fall apart. The soap is easy to use but doesn’t really foam up like I expected it too. I think this is due to the ingredients being a lot purer.
I think the soaps are great and really lovely to use on the skin, however I don’t think I’m a complete convert yet. Due to the colour of the soaps, you get left with a black pool of water under the soap in the soap dish and it just doesn’t look great. I know it’s a silly thing to not like but it’s just not my cup of tea. Valley Mill make lots of other products like soy candles, Welsh slate, personalised gifts, kitchen ware and Welsh wool.
I would recommend the soaps to anyone who is looking for natural handmade soaps as a gift/present or just a treat for themselves.
Thanks for reading.
