Sorting my dry skin problems

For the last year I’ve suffered with typical combination skin; oily in some patches and really dry in others.

This makes finding the right skincare a “mare” and has meant lots of trials with lots of different products. Now it’s getting closer to the wedding, I’ve been trying to get my skin in prime condition so that my makeup artist doesn’t have her own “mare” trying to cover my problematic skin.

I decided to try out Katherine Daniels Concentrate for Dry Skin to see if it would sort out my dry patches and help soothe the rest of my skin as well.

I tend to get a really dry hairline and dry patches around my nose so these have been the target zone for treatment.

This product combines nourishment and anti-ageing properties to protect and defend the skin against ageing. It aims to plump and protect to give that ‘new skin’ feeling and as soon as this arrived in the post, I put it straight to the test for 30 days.

Directions of use included using it twice a day and applying 2 pumps of the concentrate to your face and neck.

I love the smell of the concentrate which made it even more appealing when applying to the skin. After a couple of weeks of usage, I definitely saw a marked improvement in my dry skin patches. The only issue I did encounter was that the cream didn’t really suit the rest of my oily skin so I started applying it to the dry areas only. Once I decided to do this I saw better results again which was exactly what I was hoping for.

I love that the Katherine Daniels range offers multi step processes to help you combat any skin issues or worries that you may have. I would definitely look to try out more of their range in future as the results I saw, definitely gave me hope I can fight my skin woes in the future.

A Rose Quartz Valentines Day

There may be mention of Valentine’s Day in the title of the post but this is not a lovey-dovey post about what I’m up to and gifts I want to receive. I’ll be frank and say that I’m not big into V day but do like the chance to go out for a nice meal and make an effort with how I’m dressed. (right now I’m in my scruffs and hair is scraped back)

This post is dedicated to skinChemists Rose Quartz Age Defence Youth Facial Oil, which I’ve been trying out for the last few weeks.

So here’s some facts about what’s inside the box above…

The intelligently formulated Rose Quartz Age Defence Youth Facial Oil is infused with a blend of hydrating, nourishing and protecting actives. These provide essential vitamins and minerals for the skin to leave the complexion illuminated, hydrated and refined.

The main active ingredients in the formulation are:

1) Rose Otto Oil helps to restore moisture balance in the skin. Its anti-bacterial and anti-oxidant properties aim to repair and protect the skin, whilst firming and toning.

2) Vitamin E aims to reduce skin damage, whilst protecting against daily damage.

3) Almond Oil works to provide deep hydration and nourishment, brightening and renewing the appearance of the skin.

I mentioned above that I’ve been using this for the last few weeks and have definitely seen some difference in my skin and have seen a reduction in eye bags and lines which has been great. I have had some really hormonal/stress related skin problems of late so for the last few days, I have stopped using it. Once this has calmed down though, I will get straight back onto using this product out and giving it another trial run.

If you fancy trying this product out yourself then usually its RRP is £99. For the month of February, this is reduced to a mere £24.99 and if that isn’t good enough, I have a discount code for 20% off as well: LAURABLOG

If you’re in need of a new facial oil and love the idea of rose quartz then grab yourself a bargain throughout February.

Thanks

It’s time for a Regime

It’s 2017 and without doing the whole #newyearnewme thing, I honestly do need a kick up the backside in terms of being healthier.

My aim for this year or at least up until my wedding; is to do the following:

  • Drink more water
  • Look after my skin and have a proper cleansing routine
  • Take more vitamins/supplements for better health
  • Worry less and live in the moment

Before Christmas I decided to start taking more vitamins and supplements and the journey began with a firm favourite: Regime London Coconut quench.
