After what feels like a lifetime, I’m finally catching up on blogging and reviewing some of the wonderful products we purchased for Freya. To kick things off, I’m reviewing the Sleepyhead Deluxe+ Pod.
Initially we didn’t buy into the hype of the Sleepyhead and chose not to purchase one before she was born. Thankfully when Freya arrived into the world 2 weeks early, she settled extremely quickly into her Bassinet. Fast forward 4 weeks later, we were struggling with where to put her for daytime naps and decided to purchase one so she could lie downstairs with us and nap during the day.
You may have seen a couple of months ago, I vowed to stop spending unnecessary money on products/makeup etc. Needless to say I failed! Not completely can I just point out, I just treated myself in the last week to some new bits as I feel proud of myself over the last 2 months not spending a great deal in general. The few bits and pieces I have picked up are all beauty based and a couple are to replace some of the empties I have just used up.
The first thing I picked up was a pack of make-up wipes from Wilkinsons costing a bargain 50p. I tend to use these when I really want to just wipe my face and then will normally cleanse and tone properly. I know it’s a very lazy method but they are so handy and since these only cost 50p, I can’t complain at this spend.
Next up during my trip to Wilkinsons, I picked up the Garnier Simply Essentials 2 in 1 makeup remover. I thought I would try out a different product from my normal Micellar water. So far I have used this a couple of times and absolutely love the stuff. You only need a small amount on a cotton pad and similarly to micellar water, the makeup just slides off onto the pad. I would definitely recommend this product and at another bargain price of £2, its fab.
My next 3 purchases come from the Body Shop. I attended a blogger event at the store in Coppergate York last week (post to follow) and treated myself to some of their products, which I am ashamed to say I had never tried before!!! I spoke to the lovely store assistant who found out about my skin and the issues I sometimes have and she recommended the Aloe Range. I had a skim over the ingredients and noticed they don’t contain alcohol so this ticked a massive box for me. I chose to purchase the Aloe Gentle Facial Wash and the Aloe Calming Toner from this range and will be doing a full review on these products after I test them out thoroughly. Both products retail for £9.50 each but I love them so far so I would recommend them to anyone with sensitive skin.
Lastly from the Body Shop I chose the Honey & Oat 3 in 1 scrub mask. This smelt amazing and cost £11.00 but compared to a lot of masks on the market, this one is a winner. It left my skin feeling amazing and gave it a bit more of a glow.
I haven’t spent loads lately so I think buying these 5 items was justifiable as a treat. I’m hoping down to London at the weekend for a night so no doubt I will be looking in all the shops if I get the time but I will try not to go too crazy.
I hope you liked this little post on a Monday and thanks for reading.
Lately I have been treating myself to the occasional gift. I have deserved the odd treat lately with lots of things going on in my life, the stress levels have been high and gifts have been required. Firstly I purchased the Game of Thrones box set 1-3 in anticipation for the new series coming out. I have been re-watching the episodes to remind myself of how awesome the programme is and how much I love it. I bought it in a furious Ebay bidding war that resulted in a win for me at a fab price – Result!
I then purchased two tubes of face masks from Quick Fix Facials. I bought the Anti-Blemish Mud mask and the Purifying Charcoal Mask. I have been using them both lately and will be posting the results in a separate post coming in the next couple of weeks. I bought them on offer in Boots and love them so much so I will definitely be buying them again in the future.
Lastly i treated myself to an electric toothbrush from Asda while it was on offer. As you can see it is still in its box a month later! (disappointed in myself to say the least) I have yet to use it but I really wanted a new toothbrush that would last a bit better as I like to keep my teeth in good condition. I promise I will open the box and use this shiny new thing in the next week or so once I’ve sorted my life out.
I haven’t been spending too much money but as you can see, i bought things whilst on offer or on eBay. I’m a bit of a bargain hunter and hate parting with money so always look for a discount or voucher. I am going to be trying to save as much as possible going forward towards a holiday and will be sharing more with you about that in May.
I hope you liked this little segment and let me know what you’ve been buying lately in the comments section below!
