Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm

I am always on the lookout for new and interesting skin care products to try out and March will be no exception. I have lots of great reviews planned of my seemingly endless beauty stash in my house. First up to feature this month is the Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm.

This product is a powerhouse for dissolving your makeup right off your face. You start by rubbing the gel into your face in a generous portion. It’s so gentle that you can use it on stubborn eye makeup as well. After leaving it for around 30-60 seconds, you add water and gently massage it over the gel, which turns it into a milky finish on the skin. I then rinsed a muslin cloth in warm water and gently rubbed the product off the skin. the best thing about this product is that it literally dissolves your makeup and a quick swipe off the cloth takes it right off. No scrubbing or rubbing on the eyes or pesky eyebrow makeup.

I have to say when I started using this product, I really didn’t know what the results would be. I absolutely love how this works and think it’s one of the nicest makeup removers out there. The gel consistency is very deceiving as you really wouldn’t think it was powering away your makeup when you massage it in to the skin.  It smells really sweet and peach like which is very appealing as I hate when a product smells pungent or ripe.

Overall I was really impressed with this product and intend to explore some more of the brands other products now. I will buy this again in future as it works really well with my skin and would recommend it to anyone.

Garnier 2in1 Eye & Face Makeup Remover

For the last 30 days I have been trying out a new makeup remover. When I ran out of my normal Micellar water I decided to try out something completely different and see if I could find another product that would work. I chose the Garnier 2in1 Eye & Face makeup remover as it was offer in a shop I went into.

Firstly I noticed you don’t need much of this liquid on a cotton pad to remove the majority of your makeup. It works similarly to micellar water, you just swipe the makeup right off your face with one swoop. There is no alcohol in this product which is always a selling factor to me because alcohol based products sometimes irritate my skin.

The downside to this product for me is that it leaves your skin feeling soft however it leaves a slight greasey feeling as well. I hate products that feel as though they just sit on top of your skin rather than blending in and being absorbed. Because my skin is naturally quite oily and very spot prone, this type of product doesn’t really work for me and I think I need to stick to micellar water in the future.

This product definitely removes makeup easily and for those with dry skin, then this would work brilliantly. I would say for anybody with tempermental skin like mine, then it wont be the best choice. I hope you found this review useful.

Thanks for reading.
