My Current Skincare Favourites

It’s April and the year is literally flying by. To start the first week of the month I wanted to share a few of my favourite skincare products that have been gracing my face lately.

I have had a huge breakout lately which just made me so annoyed as I was slap bang in the middle of reviewing a new skincare routine. Needless to say I stopped straight away and went back to basics with some of my skincare in order to banish those blemishes as quickly as possible.

First up I’ve been using my Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm to remove my daily makeup. This has been a godsend to remove my makeup in a gentle way and not harshly attacking my skin. You only need a small amount which is applied to dry skin, after a couple of minutes add some warm water and massage into the skin. Then remove the balm off the skin with warm water and watch it wash away. I would recommend this to anyone needing a new makeup remover that works for sensitive skin.

I’ve also been using the Dermalogica Pore Control Scrub, its not just a scrub but also a face mask too. This scrub is incredible as you can apply it to the skin, leave for 5-7 minutes, wash it off and literally feel the refresh on your skin. My skin always feels tingly and cleansed after using this, making it one of my favourite products of all time.

After using the scrub I alternate between 2 moisturisers; The Matte Moisturiser & Moo Goo Skin Milk Udder cream. Both of these are light and give my skin some great moisture after cleansing and toning. The matte moisturiser is perfect before applying makeup as it does mattify the skin, and the moo goo is light and creamy leaving your skin super soft and supple. I like to alternate them to give my skin different benefits from both.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this little look into my current skin care favourites and hopefully it inspires you to test them out yourself.

My Skincare Heroes

Lately I have been doing everything possible to get my skin into better condition including drinking 3 litres of water a day (Needless to say, my toilet visits have increased too). The main thing I have been doing is using better products on my skin and making sure I stick to a routine and not using products that will make my skin worse. I wanted to share all the products that I have been using on my skin to get it into a much better condition and help prevent spots.

First up has been my trusty Magnitone Lucid brush which I have used religiously for the past few months and my skin has been amazing because of it. I was even featured on the Magnitone newsletter last month showing the results of my 28 day Magnitone review. I have been using it with the Kiehls Calendula Cleanser featured in the picture on the right. On an evening I have been using the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate which helps the skin to recover and repair overnight.

Next up I have been using the Liz Earle Hot cloth cleanse and polish. I have always been recommended this product and never got round to trying it out. I won a sample 50ml size through the post from Emerald Street and this gave me a great excuse to try it out. I absolutely love this product now and wouldn’t be without it as it has transformed my skin lately when having a breakout. I also use the Nip + Fab Dragons Blood Fix Pads once a week to give my skin an exfoliation and help plump my skin and give it a fresher look. I love these pads and they are a brilliant staple to my skin care routine.

Lastly I have been using these two SBC gels; collagen and propolis. My Manager gave me these to try out when I was having an allergic reaction to a product and since then I have not looked back. I had another reaction to a product recently and the propolis gel cleared it up in 2 days. I swear by these products now and could not be without them and will definitely be buying them again before they run out.

I love all the products that I have shared with you but I have tried out hundreds in the past only for them not to work for my skin. I am always open to trying new things but I have found some staple items now that I would not be without and find it’s important not to stray too far from the regime or my skin can become crazy.

I hope you liked this post.

My Current Random Favourites

I have been posting about beauty a fair bit recently, which strangely, I never intended my blog to be around this subject. I have somehow found myself absorbed into the beauty world which I love because I do love makeup and skin care – like a lot! I decide I would do a random favourites post of non-beauty things that I have been loving at the moment.

First up I love my notebook! Yes it’s a very standard black notebook that cost me £2.50 from Sainsbury’s but I write down blog post ideas in there, notes that I need to remember (mainly at silly times of night) and all sorts of weird and wonderfullness that just pops into my brain.

I have also been loving my mints and gum from Peppersmith Mints. They are so different and currently I am on the Lemon flavour. They are so yummy and help keep my breath smelling lovely especially at work speaking to customers every day.

Next up I am loving my book Geek Girl. I won this fab book in a bloggers competition and have spent the last few days reading it and am enjoying the story. I won’t lie, it wouldn’t be my first choice off the bookshelf but i am enjoying reading it and am looking forward to finishing it off.

Lastly I have been enjoying my Beanies Coffee flavours. I am just about to polish off the chocolate orange which is lush, and have moved onto the Amaretto Almond. I absolutely love almond flavours and this coffee is no exception. I drink a normal coffee on the morning but these flavours certainly perk up my day.

I will be doing a post like this every so often hopefully but I have plenty of ideas stashed in that notebook to keep my going for a while. have you done a random’s post like this?
