Blogging: A Smarter Office

Recently my little blog has been ticking away nicely and I have been working with some absolutely fantastic brands. If you had told me 4 months ago that I would have had over 2600 page views, I would have snorted and laughed (yes snorted, I actually do that occasionally when laughing!) This has meant that I have had to re-think a lot of the ways that I manage the emails coming through from companies, other bloggers and even just twitter notifications sometimes.

I recently spotted a company I had never heard of called 4th Office and applied to use their cloud storage system straight away. I love finding a new system that I think will help save me time and gain some sort of control over my life. It basically acts as your online desk where you can store messages, tasks, documents and also see group messages internally and externally. I have used it to email friends to get some blog feedback about what they want to see from my posts and useful comments they have.

I have been able to gather my messages/emails into handy folders like scheduling which means I can put tasks into the folder with a timescale that reminds me to sort blog posts out for a certain time. They are easy to change and amend to fit around me and not put myself under too much pressure.

I also put my Brand/PR emails into a client folder as part of 4th Office as normally I have agreed to collaborate with them on a post and it means I can keep them all in one place and keep them separate to normal day-to-day emails or junk mail that occasionally sneaks its way through to my normal email address.

I haven’t put the storage system to work properly yet but i have noticed that it can be linked to different community apps like Dropbox sync or google drive sync. This is a fantastic idea for a small business or office so that colleagues or other people can drop information in there to be stored for you all to see.

I have been super impressed with the facility to link it to your social media pages like LinkedIn or Facebook. I don’t have a LinkedIn set up currently but it’s on my agenda and as soon as it’s sorted, I’ll link them up together. Best of all about this platform is that it’s free at entry-level, and since my blog is just me!, I think that counts as entry-level.

How do you all keep your blogging life organised? Have you used 4th Office?

Thanks

My Makeup Wishlist

My Makeup Wishlist

I thought I would do another wish list post this week about my ultimate makeup wish list. I haven’t included anything massively expensive because I am the epitomy of Scottish/Yorkshire and hate spending money! (apologies to anyone out there who is one of those and isn’t tight with money like me!)
I have seen people raving about the Benefit Roller Lash mascara on other blogs and would love to get some for myself to try out. The other product I’ve seen lots of hype about is the New Mac Cosmetics Cinderella collection. I am only just getting into lipsticks etc so I thought this lovely pale pink would be a great start to start a Mac collection.
Have you tried any products you could recommend to me?

Forever Aloe: My Friend’s Launch Party

After seeing Forever Aloe/Living mentioned on twitter and Facebook several thousand times, one of my lovely friends told me she had decided to become part of this vastly popular company. She had planned a launch party and invited lots of girls over to fawn over the products and meet the lovely mentor that was helping her join this new and exciting business.

A typical mum, she put on an amazing spread with sweets, scones, pizzas, crisps and nuts and had a fully stocked fridge full of wine. I stuck to tea as I was driving there and back and work early the next day. First of all we started with a presentation and talk from her lovely mentor Kerry who had made a very successful business for herself and used every single product in front of her. All the products were passed round for everyone to try a dab or each thing and see what we thought of them.

My favourite products were the Aloe Vera Gelly which made my skin super smooth and also the Bee Pollen capsules which she said were a huge energy boost and gave her lots more energy day-to-day. I tried the Heat Rub as well which worked and definitely warmed up my skin but smelt a bit of vicks. I then tried a capsule of the each of the aloe vera liquids. The purer Aloe Vera was very strong and my immediate thought was I felt like I had eaten a plant!! Then I tried berry and orange flavours which were fine but very sweet and sickly.

Overall I was impressed with quite a few products and my friend has been using some of them on her son who has extremely bad eczema and it has helped clear it up. Kerry who spoke to us has become really successful from this company and now does it full-time and earns more than she did in her day job which is amazing. From a business point of view it looks like an amazing company to work for and has given me food for thought but I don’t know how completely sold I am on the products thus far. I am having a think over the next couple of weeks whether it’s something I would consider being a part of alongside my day job and will let you know.

Have any of you become part of this amazing company?

Thanks
