My Current Skin Heroes

Happy Sunday everyone!

Although the weather has made several attempts to give us snow, I have had a lovely chilled out day and thought I would post about my current skin heroes. I have crazy skin for a 24 year old and sometimes wake up with skin problems similar to my 16 year old self had! Nightmare I know! Because my skin can sometimes be Oily, Spotty, Dry and Blotchy, I have to be really careful with the products I use. Don’t get me wrong though, I will always try a new product out and test the water but I will know if it’s good or not after about 24 hours. So here are my current heroes:-

My go to product for removing my make up is Loreal Micellar water. It’s great for dissolving the makeup without being too harsh and leaves my skin still feeling soft and fresh.

I then use a cocoa butter moisturiser to soften my skin some more. My current product is from Wilkinsons and was recommended by my Mum when I was having some severe spotty days. I can hand on my heart say that its fab and proves you should trust your mum, she knows what she’s talking about.

The Superdug CC cream was a find one evening after leaving work and as you can see I use a light shade. This is due to the fact that I am soooo pale and nicknamed Casper by my family. This one is under £5 and I find it gives great coverage for days when I just want a light cover and can’t be doing with applying the full face.

Lastly I use Sudocrem for on the spot treatment to reduce redness on a spot that just magically appears. (Spot’s are great like that aren’t they?!)I normally dab a spot on overnight and it helps for applying makeup in the morning.

All the items above cost less than £5 and I will buy them time and time again. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my post and comment below with your skin care heroes so I can check them out.

Thanks

What have I been up to?

I have been jotting down any ideas I have for my blog in my notebook I purchased especially for that reason after Christmas, and 1 idea that I had was to blog about my week and make it a regular post. As it’s been quite a busy week and flown really quickly, I thought I would share what I have been doing and include some photos.

Most of the week I have been at work and time has gone sooooo fast! I have been really busy taking on extra responsibilities and obviously took up more time than originally planned (of course it did, when do things ever go to plan).

Mid-week it was my lovely mum’s birthday and my brother and I purchased her favourite perfume from Elizabeth Arden, 5th Avenue. We also took her out for dinner and let her choose somewhere and ended up going to the Hungry Horse, Riverside Farm in York. Th meal was lovely and as it was mid-week it was rather quiet as well. Unfortunately I didn’t take any photos of my meal as I was super hungry and just tucked in.

Today(Friday) I have had the day off and do so every week so its my opportunity to get stuff done. It was half that kind of day as Mum and I drove to Harrogate and visited good old Primark. York is currently unblessed and does not have 1 but here’s hoping that changes in the future. I didn’t go overboard as a tiny voice in my mind kindly reminds me all the time that I am trying to buy a home. I purchased a Game of Thrones T-shirt (amazing right?), a Marvel Travel mug for my tea at work as it constantly goes cold because I forget, a pack of 3 tights and a lovely tan/camel short sleeved cardigan with slits at the side.

After that we drove my brother to the train station as he is off to New Zealand for 2 weeks to visit our Auntie. Needless to say he has been really excited but he will spend roughly the next 27 hours travelling. He’s got lots of activities planned and is going to try and get Bob and I an All Blacks shirt each for the match later in the year.

As you can see, quite a busy day/week but it’s been fab and I finished my day by buying myself an extra large pick & mix :D:D:D

Hope you enjoyed reading

It just wasn’t meant to be…

propertyladder

Sad times in this blogger’s life at the moment. You may have read one of my first posts about buying your first home and tips and tricks, and I mentioned how I am currently in the buying process. Well last week Bob and I made the difficult decision to pull out of the purchase (hugs all round)

As it’s our first house, we didn’t want something that was going to be a project or require much work since we both have full time jobs. We got the survey back on the house just before Christmas and raised a few points on it. This all came back last week and it just looked like it was going to be a bit of a do-er-upper! As we don’t want the stress we spoke to our families who all agreed we were making the right choice.

But as they say, everything happens for a reason and it just wasn’t meant to be. We have not slowed down searching and kept an eye on the market whilst going through the process, meaning we spotted one that came on and still hasn’t sold yet. EEEK fingers crossed when we go and see it, it will be the ONE! It’s more modern than the last house and could potentially be a home for a while not just a few years.

So bloggers, Wish me Luck as we attempt to make it on the property ladder for a second time.

Has anyone else has similar experiences? leave me your comments below..
