Did you manage Dry January?

Before Christmas, I vowed to do Dry January as I had done for the last 2 years. Needless to say it started off well after a late night on New Years eve and it seemed easy for once.

Then I fell off the wagon one Saturday night. Yes I know what that sounds like and No I am not an alcoholic, but we had a catch up with friends and several bottles of wine later, I was well and truly a bit drunk.

After that I went back to my Dry ways and stayed away from alcohol for the rest of the month ashamed of my little mishap. Now it definitely wasn’t easy and there were night’s when I got home from work and was desperate for a glass of wine, but I stayed away and am proud of my resistance from temptation.

It did get me thinking about substitutes for our favourite alcoholic beverages and when Eisberg sent me some alcohol free goodies, it felt like fate.

I received a bottle of Eisberg’s Sauvignon Blanc and a huge bottle of their Sparkling Blanc and both of them tasted amazing.

They definitely taste non alcoholic but are both tasty and refreshing which I liked a lot. I would definitely buy them both again in the future and even my fiancé thought they tasted alright (he is a red wine drinker anyway).

The main positives of going for these options is they are light in calories as well as alcohol free meaning you don’t feel guilty about drinking them like you might with fizzy pop. I think these would be great for someone doing a dry month or trying to cut alcohol during the week or even someone who is pregnant and feels like they would like a drink to enjoy that still looks like alcohol.

So if you’re looking for a healthier alternative to the usual wine or alcoholic beverages then check Eisberg’s full range out on their website or in your local supermarket.
