2014: My favourites

Given that I didn’t start blogging until December 2014, I thought I would let people hear about my favourite things of 2014. So here goes…..

Favourite Holiday

I only actually went on 1 holiday last year which was booked in Feb and then i had to wait a grueling 7 months until September to get to travel to the beauty of Mexico. I visited the El Dorado Seaside Suites in Riviera Maya and it incredible. 2 weeks of adults only, unlimited frozen mudslide cocktails and amazing food. Bob and I did loads of trips and it sometimes felt like we never stopped but the best one has to be the Snorkelling with Whale Sharks. The photo below was taken by Bob of the whale shark.

Favourite Film

I will say that my favourite film of 2014 was Divergent. I didn’t actually see it until I was on the plane home from Mexico but it was awesome. It reminded me of The Hunger Games trilogy which is one of my all time best. I never got round to seeing Mockingjay so that’s on my wishlist when the DVD comes out and will be trekking to the cinema when Insurgent makes its appearance.

Favourite restaurant

This is a hard category because i go the chance to go to quite a few amazing eateries last year. I have narrowed it down to 3. In 3rd place would be Red’s True barbecue in Leeds city centre. The food there is outstanding if you’re a BBQ fan which we are.

In 2nd place was Ambiente tapas York. This was on our hit list for a while but we only visited it in December even though its on our doorstep, but the tasting platter for 2 was perfect for our 1st visit, and we were well and truly stuffed walking back to the car after that.

And in 1st place is the wonderful Fazenda In Leeds. I took Bob here for his birthday meal in October and it was great. The quality of meat is fantastic baring in mind it’s all you can eat for a set price and it’s very easy to indulge straight away and have a bit of a meat pass out!

Favourite Song

Again this is quite a difficult one but I would say that Meghan Trainer’s All About that Bass. This is a definite song for the ladies about female empowerment and not caring about your size. This was a mantra that I think I finally got my head round only a few years ago when i started to not care as much about how much i weighed. I still have the odd day where i have a wobble but who doesn’t?

I’m confident there are plenty more favourites from my year but i thought I would just pick a snippet otherwise I could waffle on and on. Please leave any comments you feel might be helpful.

Thanks
