We were super lucky when we bought our home 7 months ago as it came with made to measure blinds in every room and the owners left them there. It meant not having to measure up all the windows to buy blinds or curtains and everything already matched the colour scheme in the house which we loved anyway.
We have left everything as is since we moved in, in terms of colours on the walls etc but now it’s getting closer to Spring, we have started to think about switching it up. Now I’m pretty straight forward and know roughly what I want in each room and how I’d like to change the bathrooms, but the thing I struggle with is curtains and blinds (hence why I count myself lucky I didn’t need to do it 7 months ago).
I never feel inspired with curtains and absolutely hate big heavy patterned drapes which seem to be in every home shop you look in. I have decided the right choice for me if I change them is to go for solid block colours and have found myself venturing online to find the right colours and fabrics. Direct Blinds have a huge selection of curtains as well as all kinds of blinds including roller, blackout, venetian and wooden blinds. Here are a few of my favourites from their curtain selection for my Spring home revamp and a glimpse into putting my own stamp on our home.
Ambassador Faux Suede Barley – prices from £25.95
Ambassador Faux Suede New Grey – prices from £25.95
Panama Popular Grey – prices from £34.06
You can see I like a lot of grey or neutral tones and personally I think it’s easier to add accessories for vibrancy to a neutral room than have a lot of colour in one area. I will be updating you as we go to show our progress and hopefully it will make a big difference to the look and feel of our first home.
