Last week was the first time Bob and I had a date night since Freya was born almost 10 weeks ago. Ideally we would have loved to have a date night earlier but it’s incredible how quickly the time passes with a baby. After an indulgent evening out on Friday, we decided to have a cosy evening in on Saturday with baby, pizza, wine and rugby.
Nisa Local recently got in touch and asked us to review some of their Heritage pizzas and wines and classing myself as a pizza connoisseur, I was up for the task. We were sent a Three Cheese Pizza and a Spicy Chicken Pizza which retail at 2 for £5. We also received a bottle of Heritage Sauvignon Blanc and a bottle of Merlot which form part their new range of own label wines.
The pizzas were both extremely tasty and I was really impressed by the quality of the product overall. They cooked well in the oven and the taste was much better than other own brand products we have tried in the past. I would 100% purchase these again in the future as they offer several other flavours such as Pepperoni, Ham & Pineapple and Meat Feast.
The Merlot is medium bodied with hints of cherry and red fruits. It complimented the meaty pizza and was a lovely addition to our meal. The Sauvignon Blanc is zingy with citrus aromas and flavours and again complimented the cheesy pizza we ate. I could see both wines working with different courses depending on your evening meal plans but absolutely excellent value for money at the end of the day.
Overall the pizza and wine were perfect for our cosy evening in with baby and rugby and we had thoroughly full bellies when we went to bed that night.
