The Botanist York

A couple of weeks ago I was invited along to The Botanist York for the launch of some of their new cocktails. Now I bet you’re all thinking “Laura, you’re pregnant, you can’t drink!” and you are correct. Luckily for me, they were kind enough to make me an array of mocktails whilst I brought my mum along as my plus 1 so she could enjoy the cocktail goodness.

Having never been to the Botanist before, I was intrigued to find out more and being a lover of cocktails in general, I was excited to see some of the things, I had heard so much about.

For those of you that know York, The Botanist is located in Stonegate and is a fab corner building that you can’t miss and is more spacious than it first appears. When you go upstairs you find a corridor of many rooms that look like someone’s house.

Now let’s get to the important part; the drinks.

Things kicked off with 2 Strawberry and Elderflower Bellinis for mum

And a mocktail called All The Greens for me which tasted amazing.

Then came the most amazing selection of canapés including cocktail sausages, sliders, homemade onion rings and even mini fish and chips. Needless to say my mum’s first blog event was an impressive one.

At each stage in the evening, we were talked through the cocktails and what was in them and staff were on hand throughout the answer any questions that we had. We then got treated to a few more drinks…

A Raspberry, grape and Elderflower Cooler for moi

A Raspberry Disaronno Sour which had amazing effects.

A Velvet Green for mum which looked incredible and I think would have been my first choice if I had been able to drink.

I definitely think once baby has been born and I get my first chance at a night out with husband, The Botanist will be on our visit list for sure. Their cocktail list was extensive and has something for everyone.

Thank you to the team who organised the event and were such great hosts at making my mum and I feel welcome.
