Last weekend whilst Bob was away, I decided to have a girls day with my mum and took her out to enjoy a mooch around York and go for brunch at All Bar One. I absolutely adore brunch anyway and wish I could create some of the meals myself at home but I’m just plain lazy if I’m honest.
After a trip to the banks and a wander round the shops, we stopped at All Bar One on New Street, York around midday and were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was so we got our pick of the tables.
We started with a round of cappuccino’s which game in huge cups and a shot glass of smarties on the side. This was a huge bonus as mum and I both love smarties so we thought it was a nice touch.
After powering our way through these, we placed our orders for our meals. I chose the Boost Breakfast and mum; the Eggs Benedict.
The Boost breakfast is 2 large pieces of bread with a thin spread of hummus on top. They then have grilled tomato and mushrooms, avocado and a poached egg on top. There was also a sweet chilli dipping sauce on the side which was perfect for the side of spinach and potatoes I ordered for us to share as well.
The Eggs Benedict was egg over smoked salmon on top of a crumpet with hollandaise sauce over the top. There was also a little pot of granola next to it.
Both of the meals and side were super tasty but very filling so next time I think I wouldn’t order the side as well. The only criticism we had is that the eggs Benedict said it came with ham but instead it had salmon on it. My mum isn’t the biggest fan of salmon in general but she was pleasantly surprised by how this tasted and did enjoy eating it.
Overall we were really happy with our selections and the meals were scrumptious and fueled us for a bit more shopping. The service was very quick and efficient throughout which was great as it did start to get busier whilst we were there.
We will definitely go back in the future since we had such a pleasant first brunch experience here and I would thoroughly recommend visiting one near you if you haven’t already.
