If you follow me on Instagram, then you may have seen me snapping away at an event last Thursday. I thought I’d put fingers to keyboard straight away and share the full evening’s events with you in detail. Prepare to be amazed and a
little bit lot jealous.
When I first got the invite to this event back before Christmas, I RSVP’d instantly and put my name forward to attend. The lovely Dine Events were running the event with Cicada Communications performing the PR side of things for them. The destination for the event was the incredible Mansion, Leeds and driving up to the venue on the evening, I just stared in disbelief. Having spent the last 8 months planning my wedding, I’d heard of the venue but never seen it, but I can assure you it’s WOAH!
I was invited in from the cold with a warm greeting and led to a room set out for a demonstration of floral crown making. After introductions to Jane & Jenny, the wonderful staff from Dine and the incredible team at Twisted Willow Floristry, it was time to take our seats and prepare for the demonstration. I’ve featured some photography from the event itself in this post by the very talented Daniel from 123 Photography as well as some of my own photos from the dinner. Full credit to Daniel as the photos are absolutely amazing.
After a wonderful demonstration, it was now our turn to make some floral crowns and get to know each other a little better. There were bloggers, PR’s and even a cake maker at the event so it was a great evening with lots of chatter and laughter.
I had so much making my crown and it’s still going strong 2 days later on my mantelpiece. After we made the crowns we had a group photo on the staircase before getting to sample some canapes and drinks before the incredible 3 course meal that awaited us.
Now that you’ve seen all the floral goodness, here’s to the very indulgent menu for the evening before I amaze you with the photos:
Reception drinks… Domaine J. Laurens Blanquette de Limoux ‘Le Moulin’ NV ~ Limoux, FRANCE (Sparkling White)
Or Elderflower spritz for the non-alcohol drinkers
Venison Tartare on Chocolate Spätzle Discs
Ham Hock & Smoked Wensleydale Croquette with Apple Gel, served in a smoking dome
Caprini Goats Cheese Cones with Tomato & Dill Concase, Fig & Balsamic Caviar
Crab & Saffron Risotto, Pan Fried Scallops & Tempura Soft Shell Crab
Wine – Hugel ‘Classic’ Pinot Blanc 2013 – France – perfect for seafood!
Fallow Deer with Spiced Umbrian Lentils, Choucroute, Smoked Kale & Chocolate Jus
Wine – Domaine Terres Georges ‘Quintessence’ Minervois 2014 – predominantly Syrah red forest fruit flavours
Dark Chocolate & Rosemary Tart with Fennel Ice-Cream, Orange Sherbet & Baked White Chocolate
Wine – Quady Elysium Black Muscat 2015 -modern wine suits chocolate
Lauden Chocolates served with Tea & Coffee
Sounds incredible right? Well it was exactly that. Once we were seated for the meal, it was hard not to awe at the amazing details in the centerpieces and layout of all the table settings. Then the best part arrived and we tucked into the meal with accompanying wine (tasting sips for me since I was driving).
After all the indulgence, it was time to go home with a good bag in hand and a full stomach. I can honestly say this was one of the best events I’ve ever been to and I have already suggested to the fiance that we go back for a meal together.
A huge thank you to the lovely staff from Dine, Jane & Jenny from Cicada and the great team from Twisted willow Photography and special thanks to Daniel from 123 Photography for some great photos all evening.
