It’s Black Friday at JYSK

Having spent the last few months getting our home in order, it’s safe to say we’ve visited plenty of homeware shops and websites. JYSK is one of those very shops but in the past I’ll admit, I never really bothered with.

The store near me opened a fair few years back and having never needed to go in much, I just never bothered. My mum did mention it and every so often I wandered in and imagined buying bits for my future home and planning it all in my head.

If you don’t know much about the store it opened its first store in Denmark in 1979 and now consists of over 2400 stores in 45 countries. It sells a massive range of products for all rooms in the house as well as Garden furniture and seasonal items like Christmas.

So it’s no surprise they are doing something for Black Friday and are offering savings of up to 70% with over 800 items featuring in the sale.

In other words, check them out and more than likely you will be grabbing a bargain!

Getting Some Home Inspiration

I feel like the last few months since getting our first home has been non-stop thinking “what else do we need for the house?”

It’s great to put a stamp on our own space now though and has made me fall in love with homeware and decorating even more than putting a pinterest page together.

When it comes to entertaining spaces, we are fortunate to have a great living-dining area in our house which makes it great for dinner parties (not that we’ve had any yet) or just having people round for drinks (that we have definitely done). We were fortunate to find a dining table in the end but it did mean spending lots of time searching websites and checking measurements before we settled on the right one.

A great website for dining/furniture for entertaining is Fishpools. They have an incredible selection of dining table sets, individual tables and even bar stools for breakfast bars or home bars if you are lucky to have one. I thought I’d share some of my favourite ones I found when trying to source the right one for us in our new home.

First up the Allegra – I love the sleek look of these chairs and the marble effect table top. It would work perfectly in a modern space with clean lines, white walls and bright colourful art.

I also love the Arles which I think is very country style kitchen or farmhouse. For a cosy kitchen feel, I’d add some fresh flowers and a good china teapot with a cosy on it.

Last up but certainly not least is the Brockton which has to be my favourite on the site. I love the walnut finish on the table and gorgeous comfy chairs. I would normally never choose different coloured chairs or at least would never have thought about it but I love how the website has styled these up. It adds some real elegance to the dining set and would make a great entertaining space.

In terms of their individual dining tables, here is my absolute favourite for pure design concept. It looks absolutely stunning and I wish I had space for the large table.

So if you’re searching for some great home inspiration especially when it comes to your dining table then definitely have a wander over to the website and check them out yourself. There’s a great range and really something for every style of space you might have. I personally love their ranges and it really helped determine what I was looking for in a dining table/entertaining space.

The Largest Bouquet of Lily’s I’ve ever seen

I’m a lover of flowers despite the ability to kill them off pretty quickly. Since we are now into full-blown wedding planning, when the opportunity came up to review a gorgeous bouquet of Lily’s from OK Bouquet, I jumped at the chance as it’s one of the flowers I actually want.

I was offered the chance to review their deluxe bouquet of Lily’s which retails for £35 and includes eucalyptus leaves as well as palm leaves. Delivery was speedy therefore not long after ordering, an extremely large box was waiting for me when I came home from work one day.

Inside I found a deluxe bouquet indeed, so big that it wouldn’t all fit into my vase. It was extremely well packaged and there were care instructions inside letting me know what to do with the flowers. With the assistance of my fiance because I couldn’t lift it on my own, we carefully took the flowers out and arranged them into the vase.

As you can see, the flowers are stunning and gradually more and more opened up leaving my house with the most incredible smell to come home to. Remember, this was only half the bouquet in there and because we didn’t want it to go to waste, the other half was donated to my future mother in law who loves Lily’s as well.

Between the two of us, the flowers lasted just over 7/8 days before they started browning and it was time to get rid. But we have both been pleasantly surprised by how well they lasted and how beautiful they were when they flowered. It has definitely cemented Lily’s as one of my wedding flowers as I think I love them even more now.

From order to delivery, the service was fantastic and super speedy. Value for money is superb as the amount of flowers you actually get for the price is astonishing. I showed my fiance the website just in case he feels the need to treat me in the future as they have a vast range on offer and some truly beautiful bouquet options. If ordered by 12 noon, you can in fact get next day delivery as well so perfect for a last-minute gift idea. Price wise, the website ranges from around £20 up to £75 if you are looking for a more premium option. Plenty to choose from and something to suit everyone in my opinion.

So there you have it, a little sneak peek into my wedding floral arrangements and a taste of a home related post in a way. We are finally settled in the house with a touch more accessories to add here or there so expect some homeware posts coming soon.
