You may have seen a couple of months ago, I vowed to stop spending unnecessary money on products/makeup etc. Needless to say I failed! Not completely can I just point out, I just treated myself in the last week to some new bits as I feel proud of myself over the last 2 months not spending a great deal in general. The few bits and pieces I have picked up are all beauty based and a couple are to replace some of the empties I have just used up.
The first thing I picked up was a pack of make-up wipes from Wilkinsons costing a bargain 50p. I tend to use these when I really want to just wipe my face and then will normally cleanse and tone properly. I know it’s a very lazy method but they are so handy and since these only cost 50p, I can’t complain at this spend.
Next up during my trip to Wilkinsons, I picked up the Garnier Simply Essentials 2 in 1 makeup remover. I thought I would try out a different product from my normal Micellar water. So far I have used this a couple of times and absolutely love the stuff. You only need a small amount on a cotton pad and similarly to micellar water, the makeup just slides off onto the pad. I would definitely recommend this product and at another bargain price of £2, its fab.
My next 3 purchases come from the Body Shop. I attended a blogger event at the store in Coppergate York last week (post to follow) and treated myself to some of their products, which I am ashamed to say I had never tried before!!! I spoke to the lovely store assistant who found out about my skin and the issues I sometimes have and she recommended the Aloe Range. I had a skim over the ingredients and noticed they don’t contain alcohol so this ticked a massive box for me. I chose to purchase the Aloe Gentle Facial Wash and the Aloe Calming Toner from this range and will be doing a full review on these products after I test them out thoroughly. Both products retail for £9.50 each but I love them so far so I would recommend them to anyone with sensitive skin.
Lastly from the Body Shop I chose the Honey & Oat 3 in 1 scrub mask. This smelt amazing and cost £11.00 but compared to a lot of masks on the market, this one is a winner. It left my skin feeling amazing and gave it a bit more of a glow.
I haven’t spent loads lately so I think buying these 5 items was justifiable as a treat. I’m hoping down to London at the weekend for a night so no doubt I will be looking in all the shops if I get the time but I will try not to go too crazy.
I hope you liked this little post on a Monday and thanks for reading.
