With an absolute mountain of beauty products at home, its easy to flit between products in order to fulfil the urge to try absolutely everything out. It’s also pretty easy to forget some of the classic beauty products in your stash that do wonders for you and your skin. I decided to dig through my mountain last week and find some products to start using again and quickly fell back in love with 3 main staples of my skincare routine.
First up is the extremely popular Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. I actually got some of this last year as a sample and it did wonders for my skin. I’ve had a few ups and downs with my skin recently so I was eager to see if this product sorted it out like I remembered. After 7 days of using this twice a day with a muslin cloth, my skin is starting to look and feel fresher. I’m getting less breakouts but the odd minor spot has appeared which is expected when I’m stressed or tired. (Hormones are annoying!) I would definitely recommend this product to anyone and it was actually my old manager that told me to get it, so I wish I had listened to her earlier rather than waiting. This product is excellent value for money as you really don’t need to use much of it for clean, fresh and even looking skin.
Next up is my Dermalogica Clean Start Welcome Matte SPF moisturiser. Normally I don’t suffer from shiny looking face syndrome but recently its reared its shiny head! I took this opportunity to start using this moisturiser again but as more of a primer before applying foundation. I’ve found that it has worked really well and my skin hasn’t been as greasey feeling or shiny. Like with Liz Earle, a little goes a long way and it has lasted me really well. As soon as it runs out, I know I will be buying it again as it’s so good.
Last up on my list is the Eucerin Ultra Sensitive Soothing care Dry Skin moisturiser. I only discovered this great little brand last year when I was lucky enough to win some goodies from a escentual competition on twitter, and have been in love ever since. The Ultra sensitive range is my favourite as it’s so light and blends so easily into your skin. You really only need a tiny amount but it works wonders and leaves your skin smooth, cared for and dry skin is a thing of the past. I have a couple of their products and am pretty disappointed that I forgot about them for a while but they are firmly back on my usage list now.
No doubt if you are an avid reader, you will see some similar posts over the coming months as I move out of the family home and into my own home. It will be a good chance to get everything out and look at it properly to see what I really do have in my mountain of stuff. It’s a beauty lovers dream and I can’t wait to share more with you going forward.
