A couple of weeks ago, I was lucky enough to receive a tub of Dermatique Recuperating Cream for sensitive skin and problems like eczema and dry skin. I have not been ashamed to share my skin problems in the past and cannot explain how annoying my face can be sometimes. It can be super oily one day and break out in spots and the next its dried out and needs slathers of moisturiser. This means I struggle with what I use on my skin most of the time and lots of different products can make it worse or flare up.
Here is the product blurb from the site itself:
“Made to soothe irritation and give parched tissue a much-needed drink of moisture, the Dermatique Recuperating Cream promotes healing in the gentlest of ways. Completely free of steroids and devoid of artificial fragrances that can inflame sensitive skin, this formula helps to calm the symptoms of eczema, psoriasis and other chronic conditions.
The formula deeply moisturises while helping to repair the skin’s protective moisture barrier in order to prevent dryness from returning in the future. With its hydrating ingredients, this formula provides immediate relief from itching and becomes rapidly absorbed, so skin feels soothed and softened, but never greasy. Apply it to the face, hands or anywhere on the body.”
I started using this product when my skin was super tight feeling and needed some much-needed care and moisture. The thing that I loved about this cream is how quickly it absorbed into my skin and didn’t give me greasy skin for ages after. It also has no real scent which is amazing because I swear sometimes the smell gets right in my skin and adds to the flare ups! (I know this isn’t necessarily true, I do jest!) I have been using this cream on my legs as well since the unbearable British summer is now upon us and causing havoc with my skin all over. My knees always looks dry but since using the Dermatique cream I have had no problems.
I would definitely recommend this product if you suffer from really dry skin or problematic dry patches. I don’t use masses of the stuff just around a grape size amount on each leg and a pea size on the face. A little goes a long way with this product and I’m a firm believer in not layering on products too much.
The Dermatique philosophy is that they provide Effective products, Quality Ingredients and an Honest Approach. I love that this company started from one family’s search for a solution to their child’s eczema dilemna’s! If you go on their website as well you can find out more of their story, the ingredients they use and other products that they make. I won’t lie the fact that Scotland is printed firmly on the front of the tub was fab news for me since I am originally from a town outside Glasgow and do love my little Scottish finds.
If you are looking for a product that is dedicated to fighting dry skin problems then I would definitely give Dermatique a go.
