ABYSSINIAN OIL I here you cry! What on earth could that be?
Well I’m pleased you asked. Abyssinian Oil is a facial oil from the lovely people over at Beauty Kitchen. In a nutshell, it’s an intensive hydration and age defence treatment for sensitive, oily or dry skin. (Not my words, they are straight from the website.)
If you’ve read my previous posts, then you will have seen my review of another of this brands products, the Refresh Me Star Light Bath Bomb. I absolutely loved that product so I was keen to try out something different from the brand and something new to myself as well. I won’t lie, I would never drift towards a facial oil in the shops but having read reviews from other bloggers in the past, I wanted to give this a proper go and see what it could do for my skin.
I love that all the products from the Beauty Kitchen are 100% natural, effective and affordable.
I tested this product out over 3 weeks and was a little hesitant at first. I didn’t want to slather it on my face in case it made my skin worse. I decided to use a couple of drops in the palm of my hand and then rubbed it into my skin and neck. I repeated this on a daily basis before bed to allow my skin to breathe in all the goodness through the night. After 3 weeks I have definitely seen a difference in my skin; mainly in the pigmentation marks I had from previous acne scars in the past. This was my biggest concern so it was nice to see some of the marks had faded a little.
Now don’t get me wrong, I didn’t expect it to stop new spots appearing and I did suffer from some blemishes over the weeks but I haven’t suffered with any dark marks and I definitely think my spots have cleared up a little quicker. I think long-term this product would be brilliant for my skin as it seems to making improvements already. I have been using it on my arms as well as I’ve suffered with dry patches recently and it’s helped to improve this loads as well.
This product retails for £19.99 and I think it’s worth every penny. Having never tried any other form of facial oil before, I can’t really compare it to any other products for an honest review. Now that I know my skin reacts well to these oils, I intend to purchase a few others from other brands to see what else I find and really compare them to each other.
Would I buy this again?
Yes I think I would, I think for an all natural product then this is worth the money as it really has left my skin nourished and healthier looking.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my first facial oil review and if like me, you suffer from blemishes and bad skin, you may finally feel comfortable to step out and try a product like this for the first time.
