After what feels like a lifetime, I’m finally catching up on blogging and reviewing some of the wonderful products we purchased for Freya. To kick things off, I’m reviewing the Sleepyhead Deluxe+ Pod.
Initially we didn’t buy into the hype of the Sleepyhead and chose not to purchase one before she was born. Thankfully when Freya arrived into the world 2 weeks early, she settled extremely quickly into her Bassinet. Fast forward 4 weeks later, we were struggling with where to put her for daytime naps and decided to purchase one so she could lie downstairs with us and nap during the day.
I won’t lie when we first got it; Freya refused to nap in it and we thought we’d wasted our money. To this day she still doesn’t nap in it unfortunately but our luck turned when we decided to move her to her own cot. We were onto a winner when the first night she slept in her Sleepyhead all cosy in her own bed, she slept through 12 hours. Since that day, she’s slept between 11-12.5 hours every night and we are incredibly lucky that she feels comfy and loves her sleep.
Here’s some facts about the Sleepyhead from their official website:
The Sleepyhead® DELUXE+ pod is the ultimate pod for your baby ages 0-8 months old. Multifunctional and multitasking, the Sleepyhead® DELUXE+ offers a safe and comfy spot that lets baby sleep, rest, co-sleep, lounge, play, cuddle, do tummy time and get diaper changes. DELUXE+ pods are lightweight and portable, allowing for easy travel, from room to room, grandma’s house or on vacation. Additional covers are available for purchase to match your mood, room and style.
Designed with love in Sweden and made in Europe. All materials used are breathable, washable and hypoallergenic. Sleepyhead® DELUXE+ offers excellent air-permeability. All filling materials are sourced from world-leading suppliers with breathable, hygienic and non-toxic properties. Globally patented.
The Deluxe version will fit babies between 0-8 months and after this they then progress up to the Grand model.
Will we be buying the next size up?
We will more than likely test the waters first to see if Freya settles on her own without one first as she will be moving around a lot more by this age and might prefer not having the bumpers of the pod around her. If she doesn’t settle then 100% we will be buying the Grand size pod.
Overall we are really happy with our buy even if it didn’t seem that way at first and definitely thing its value for money.
